Employment – Landscape Maintenance Operations Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Seeking an experienced, positive and proven Maintenance Operations Manager to facilitate our established and growing high-end residential & commercial landscape firm.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 to $65,000.00 /year

General

  • MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS LANDSCAPE AND/OR MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
  • Facilitate smooth operations of our Design to Build to Garden Maintenance Services teams.
  • Oversight of policy handbook compliance
  • Relationship building with vendors, specifically negotiate best pricing, rapid response and identification of new resources.
  • Develop new business with architects/builders, B2B work as align-able with growth goals
  • Help attract and recruit talented employees
  • Oversee operational safety; responsible for accident reporting and follow through
  • Maintain/delegate SHC standards of appearance, both equipment and personal. Clean vehicles, clean/working equipment, job site cleanliness, uniform policy, hygiene, shop and workspace cleanliness and organization
  • Understand and maintain contracts with clients and vendors – ensure legal obligations are being met
  • Shop management/delegation
  • Coordinate with bookkeeper new hire needs and compliance: building keys, alarm access, WEX, D.O.T compliance, etc.
  • Ongoing improvement of SHC’s client experience
  • Better define owners’ roles to their strengths

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manages labor to set schedules and oversees all equipment and materials needed to accomplish production needs.
  • Ensures all work is completed in adherence to safety guidelines. Conducts weekly safety training and inspections on job-sites.
  • Supervise employees, oversees attendance records, enforces proper uniform usage and equipment use.
  • Overall human resource management of field staff. Includes hiring, performance management, training, coaching, mentoring, and development of staff to reach full potential for each individual and the company. Identify and develop crew leaders.
  • Visits job sites daily, observing organization of work, identifying and resolving training issues, and taking necessary actions to ensure high quality of work.
  • Respond to customer complaints ensuring proper handling to achieve excellent customer service.
  • Maintain day-to-day knowledge of customer contracts in progress, including completion status.
  • Monitors budgeted hours versus actual hours and takes appropriate steps to ensure proper tracking is in place and performance requirements are met.
  • Communicate with customers daily
  • Safe utilization of all company equipment including trucks, lawn maintenance and landscape assets.

Budgetary

  • Work with owners to develop revenue growth through existing model while also identifying and presenting add’l revenue opportunities
  • Review profitability reports with owners. Work in partnership to set budgetary goals for production Ensure set margins are being met while maintaining our level of customer interaction, communication, and expectations.
  • Work in partnership with owners to create long range forecasts for budget and profitability
  • Create and maintain staffing budgets
  • Create and maintain building maintenance budget

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS LANDSCAPE EXPERIENCE
  • Have a minimum of a two or four-year degree in Landscape Construction, Landscape Horticulture, Landscape Architecture or Environmental Services
  • Minimum 5 years management experience
  • Knowledge of plants (including annuals & perennials, shrubs & trees), grasses & weeds
  • Base knowledge of irrigation systems, repairs & maintenance
  • Availability to work the hours needed to ensure smooth operations
  • Ability to lift at least 50 Lbs
  • Ability to drive company vehicles and trailers under CO State guidelines/Valid DL
  • Desired computer skills: Microsoft, QuickBooks, Adobe Suite, CAD
  • Equipment repair knowledge/good troubleshooting skills
  • Strong role model/positive advocate/leadership skills
  • Customer service and teamwork focus
  • English & Spanish Speaking/Writing Capability
  • Positive person
